Liyuan CMC is a popular functional additive for synthetic detergents, applicable to detergents in both powder and liquid forms.
After powder and liquid detergents dissolve in water, CMC mainly delivers two core functions. Firstly, it prevents detached soil and dirt from redepositing onto fabrics, as the CMC adsorbed on the fabric surface and the detached soil particles both carry negative charges and are electrostatically repulsive to each other. Secondly, it protects textile fibers by forming a hydrated film on fiber surfaces. Such films isolate fabrics from corrosion caused by alkaline ingredients in detergents and reduce friction during the washing process.
Additionally, in liquid-form detergents, it effectively increases the viscosity of the solution and stabilizes other components in the system. The likelihood of stratification and sedimentation is greatly reduced prior to the actual use of the detergents.
